Discharge Music - Never Heard of this before!

Recently I was contacted by a man who worked for Akron Children’s Hospital in Akron, Ohio. He found me on youtube because I had played a beautiful rendition of the classic tune, You Are My Sunshine.

He and the hospital staff wanted a 15-second recorded version of this tune that could be played for babies and their parents as they are discharged from the NICU. The nurse would easily punch in a number on the phone system, and my gentle guitar song would commence, soothing and encouraging the families as they leave for home with their newborns.

After some discussion, we decided on choosing a public-domain song for this purpose. They chose Brahm’s Lullaby and they loved what I provided for them. I made a very sweet, upper register steel string guitar recording of the famous lullaby.

What a nice send-off.
